URBAN DECAY NAKED ON THE RUN

Urban Decay's Naked On The Run is a limited edition, travel-ready, all-in-one palette.
The palette comes in a "sleek, highly metallized rose-gold case topped with mesmerising, perhaps Bohemian type of artwork and a bold, metallic” label.  The underside of the lid features a huge mirror.  Overall, I like. ^_^
LET'S TAKE A CLOSER LOOK INSIDE...
The palette contains:
// Six ALL-NEW shades of eyeshadow (including an extra large sized all-over shade, 5050),
// Bronzer,
// Blush,
// A full-size Naked Ultra Nourishing Lipgloss in 'Sesso'(new shade),
// A travel-size 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in 'Stag' (new shade), and
// A travel-size Perversion Mascara.

EYE SHADOWS
From left to right in the palette:
// Dive: metallic rose with golden micro-shimmer (I love this shade for day!),
// Fix: soft taupe matte,
// Resist: medium metallic taupe,
// Dare: medium brown matte,
// Stun: metallic bronze with light gold micro-shimmer, and
// 5050: cool bisque satin, or a soft pink champagne (I initially thought this was a highlighter due to its larger size in the palette, but I find it works well as an eye shadow and a highlighter - love versatility!).

Size: 5 x 1.4g / 5 x 0.04oz

EYE SHADOW SWATCHES
Below - swatches in low light (without a strobe) to depict the shimmers.
BRONZER, BLUSH & HIGHLIGHTER/EYE SHADOW
The bronzer is a medium, warm bronze with a matte finish so it looks more natural.  I was a little worried that it may be a bit too orange as it appears in the pan, but thankfully it isn't so on my medium, olive skin tone (~NC30).  It just gives the right amount of warmth - a great everyday bronzer.  It would be too light for deeper skin tones though.

The blush is described as a "vibrant pink with light shimmer".  When swatched, the shimmers appear very subtle and sparse.  The shimmer doesn't appear to be noticeable on the cheeks though so don't be alarmed.  It has a cool undertone so it would suit those with similar undertone and also flatter those with olive skin.  Warning, this is extremely pigmented!  I've overdone it a couple of times >_<  So, I recommend using a very light hand and either a soft brush that's not too dense, or a stippling brush.  Just a single, slightest touch with my Suqqu Cheek Brush was plenty enough!

COMPARISON SWATCHES | BRONZER, BLUSH & HIGHLIGHTER/EYE SHADOW
Note: the swatch labelled as "UD highlighter" below is actually an eye shadow, but I use it for both purposes as mentioned. ;)
All the powder products in the palette are very finely milled and have a very smooth, silky texture - with the exception of the two shimmery eye shadows, which have the slightest bit more texture to them due to the shimmer particles.  Still, they all apply smoothly and have great colour pay-off.  I will say that the two shimmery eye shadows do have a little bit of shimmer fall-out during application, so you need to be careful (either apply your foundation/base after eye makeup so you can clean it up; or after dipping the eye shadow brush onto the pan, firmly press the powder onto the brush bristles between the tip of your index finger and thumb before dabbing gently onto the lid to help prevent fall out).  They all lasted the ten hours I wore them on my normal to dry skin (no primer) with only slight fading at the end of that period, but not enough to require touch up. :)

PERVERSION MASCARA
Perversion Mascara is described as a "blackest black".  This has your traditional bristle brush applicator rather than the plastic ones, which I've been using a lot of late.  So, this brush was a nice change for me.  :)  While I've learned to appreciate and love the plastic brush over time, I have missed and love the way the traditional brush feels so soft against my lashes!  This one is particularly big and full so it coats every single lash.  The finish looks naturally longer, thicker with no clumps and wispy!  It first applies wet, but dries quickly and seems to hold the curl I applied using my eye lash curler.  Plus, it doesn't make my lashes feel stiff.  Overall, love it and likely to repurchase this on its own.  The only problem I have is that it has a scent that is consistent with a mascara that has gone off. :(  I'm not sure if they all smell like that all the time, or I happen to get a dud.  Do you have the same issue with yours?  Let me know in the comment below.

URBAN DECAY 24/7 GLIDE-ON EYE PENCIL IN 'STAG'
It's my first to try their 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils and I rather like them - well, this one shade I've tried at least. :)  I've only tested on the upper eye lids (along the lash line), but not along the waterline as I'm very sensitive in that area so I avoid it like the plague.  It applies easily and smoothly without any tugging at the skin.  I can get decent pigmentation after a couple of gentle strokes, and it lasted the ten hours I wore it without any noticeable fading.  (Personally, I'm unlikely to ever need to wear it for 24 hours!).  Stag is a deep brown satin.  A great every day shade - dark enough to provide good definition without being black and harsh for day wear.
Size: 0.8 g / 0.03 oz.  Above is how its size compares with one of the Marc Jacobs mini Highliner Gel Crayons (reviewed here).

NAKED ULTRA NOURISHING GLOSS IN 'SESSO'
Sesso is described as a rose with pink shimmer.  It's a 'my-lips-but-better' kinda shade.  It's most similar to Nars's Dolce Vita lip gloss, which suits most skin tones.  On my cool-toned, naturally pigmented lips, it looks very natural and allows more of my natural lip colour to show through, so the pigmentation isn't strong.  The shimmers aren't really noticeable when applied.  It does leave the lips looking a little plumper, so great for those who need it like I do.  The scent is interesting - it has a sweet and minty side to it, which I find pleasant enough, but I also detect a more unpleasant chemical scent to it.  Perhaps they tried to hide the latter, but didn't quite cover it up 100%?  Overall, I would much rather use Sesso as a layer of gloss on top of lipstick than on its own as it looks a bit boring on me (my dull, olive skin tone always needs a touch of brightness to lift my complexion and make me look more alive).  So, this means I'll have to carry around a lipstick (or possibly switch the gloss compartment in the palette with one or a different lip gloss).  It's a shame it hasn't quite reached the "all-in-one" palette claim for me in that regard.

Size: 4ml / 0.13 fl. Oz
OVERALL
I really enjoy using this palette.  Love everything about it, but my least favourite is the lip gloss (the strange scent and the shade is a bit 'meh' on me).  It's a great neutral palette to have for every day and one of the more "complete" ones out there, so it's great for travel.  The size is decent and it's not too weighty.  The packaging and the large mirror that stays still when you tilt it at desired position/angle for viewing make it convenient to prop up on any flat surface and have most if not all of the makeup necessities you need while you're on-the-go.  The finish of the packaging is also fairly pleasing to me - I prefer it better than the usual tin packaging of the Naked 1, 2 and 3 eye shadow palettes, which I find a bit tacky and clumsy (oh fussy me! ;) ).  Great value for money - I highly recommend you get your hands on one while you can!

AVAILABILITY
Limited edition.  I purchased mine a couple or so months ago from Selfridges online (still available there when this post was published for £37.00), which ship internationally.  Unfortunately, this palette appears to have sold out (for a reasonably-than-normal priced AUD$78) during the online pre-sale to those registered to receive Urban Decay email notifications in Mecca Maxima in Australia - apparently only 1000 were up for grabs!  >_<  (Note, the rest of the Urban Decay product line officially becomes available to purchase online or in store on 27th March!)

Hope this was helpful. :)

Thanks for stopping by! ^_^ xo
