Drinking Again by Dinah Washington |
Lipstick Queen had been on my radar for quite some time. One evening I decided to peruse Lipstick Queen's little makeup rack and happened upon a gorgeous red (I think it was called Deep Red) which unfortunately for me was out of stock. Shaken but unperturbed, I settled my loss by bringing Wine home with me.
Wine is a deep purplish red. Honestly, upon first swipe, I was slightly disappointed because it was not the red I had planned for. Regardless, the formula is smooth and moisturising but, not as matte as I thought it would be. It has a light comforting scent that reminds me of marzipan and is a great all-rounder if you're after a lipstick that will give you the magic 3 - style, colour, and comfort - you'll definitely get it with this.
Current Thoughts: The more I play around with this shade. The more I (really-really) like it.

Like I said - initially I was not wowed at first swipe yet, this moody red has grown on me. I think its nice at full strength or lightly applied for a rosied pout. In regards to which skin tones will suit this, I think its the type of red that most if not all can get away with (depending on what strength and effect you're after). For dark skin - well this is the classic shade that has and will always be recommended for us, as its rich enough to make impact and non-jarring. If you're after a muted harmonious red - this is it. Yeah, it may not be flamboyant and exciting but, there can be much charm and fun to be had in the demure.
