Smashbox #ShapeMatters Palette Review

Today I'll be reviewing the Smashbox #ShapeMatters Palette

AvailabilityThis retails at $55 and is available at sephora.com along with its physical store locations along with smashbox.com
Would I buy this? Probably not.
NotesAlright let's do pros and cons - the pros of this is that the palette, other than complexion, brushes and lip products has everything you would need to do a face which makes it great for traveling or having in your kit as a makeup artist. I love that the names of the colors aren't just on the insert but are on the bottom of the palette as well. I also LOVE that there's a closure on the brow wax to keep it from drying out and to keep powder from getting into it - that's GENIUS, every palette that combines powders and creams should do this! The cons though are that the palette is somewhat bulky because of the divot that houses the brush - about 1/2 inch thick... it can be half that if the brush were put separate from the palette and the outside is a fingerprint magnet.

Wax - is a clear brow wax.

Taupe is a cool-toned taupe-y color that's almost got a little olive/blonde in it, a great brow shade for blondes; matte finish.

Soft Brown is the only color in here I used before photography because I ran out of brow products and needed something to hold me over. It's a warm-toned medium brown; matte finish.

Contour is matte, neutral-toned sculpting shade, it leans a little cool because of the gray in it but it's not gray enough to be a cool-tone... if that makes any sense.

Highlight is a satin champagne shade that looks really yellow here in the photo but in real life it gives a really subtle highlighting effect, I personally prefer high-shimmer highlighters but this nice for someone who's oily or wants that subtlety.

Bronze is soft, matte, warm-toned brown that's almost slightly on the orange side.

Glow is a beautiful, slightly frosty/satiny warm-toned champagne shade, almost golden in certain lights, really pretty.

Vanilla is soft, matte, off-white flesh tone. This is the perfect brow highlight as far as I'm concerned.... for fairer skin-tones that is.

Stripped is a satiny, more medium flesh tone that makes a good highlight for someone with more of a medium or deeper skin-tone.

Sumatra is rich, deep, dark chocolate brown; matte finish.

Totally Nude is a matte, pink-toned mauve shade.

Posh is a frosty mid-tone pink.

Aubergine is a deep, rich matte blackened purple.

Champagne is warm-toned champagne shade/ a very soft gold.

Platinum is a warm-toned frosty taupe shade. I love colors like this but find them very hard to describe. Very pretty though.

Blackout is a matte black.

This includes a double-ended natural-hair brush that has an angled side that I assume is more for brows than any liner-type deal because of its thickness and a flat paddle brush for eyeshadow. The brush is a nice, high-quality brush with soft bristles that pack color on really well which I really like. A lot of the times the included brushes tend to be dinky and are either bad quality or they just don't seem to work well with the product or are plain oddly shaped. Thumbs up Smashbox.
