Beyoncé reveals she weighed 175 pounds after giving birth to twins - Daily Mail

Posted: 24 Jul 2019 12:00 AM PDT

Beyoncé has candidly detailed how she struggled with weight gain while expecting her twins Rumi and Sir, two, and how she got her body back.

The Crazy In Love hitmaker, 37, spoke honestly in a new video promoting the plant-based program 22 Days Nutrition, as she revealed she tipped 218lbs (15.5 stone) on the scales during pregnancy and needed to get back in shape for Coachella

Speaking about being uncomfortable with her fuller frame following their 2017 arrivals, she said: 'I'm back on the stage after giving birth to twins. I was a woman that felt like my body was not mine. Every woman's nightmare'.

Beyoncé, who shares her twins and seven-year-old daughter Blue Ivy with husband Jay-Z, 49, detailed the highs and lows of her weight loss journey in the video.

She intricately documents in the video how her body had changed as she was shown from the moment she steps onto the scale and learns she weighs 175lbs, to her elation at finally being able to fit into her Wonder Woman costume.

Beyoncé had given birth to twins Rumi and Sir on June 13, 2017, and was open about the challenges she faced getting back into shape for her Coachella performance.

Though she never revealed how much weight she lost, the video gave fans an intimate look at her diet and exercise routine.

'Good morning. It's 5am and this is day one of rehearsals for Coachella,' Beyoncé said at the start of the video before stepping onto a scale. 'Everyone woman's nightmare. This is my weight, 175, long way to go. Let's get it'.

A caption read: 'Beyoncé followed the 22 Days program for 44 days to meet her goals for Coachella'.

22 Days Nutrition is a plant-based program created by Marco Borges, and he was seen teaching Beyoncé just how beneficial the diet would be for her performances.

'I'm back on the stage after giving birth to twins,' Beyoncé said while shown rehearsing dance moves. 'I was a woman who felt like my body was not mine,' she continued.

'It's time to work so I have to get in that zone. It's like a different headspace,' Beyoncé said at one point.

She said that losing the baby weight was much easier than getting in shape.

Beyoncé toward the end of the video was on a video chat with Marc and twirled in an outfit. 'Guess who fits in the Wonder Woman costume?,' she told Marc.

Beyoncé welcomed twins in June 2017 in Los Angeles. She also recently documented her return to the stage in the Netflix music documentary Homecoming.

She headlined the first of two weekends at Coachella in April 2018 and it was the most-watched live performance on YouTube of all time.

Queen Bey, as her fans affectionately call her, opted for an outfit that featured a full sleeve with a raised shoulder at the right side.

The Texas-born pop icon's dress went off-the-shoulder at the left side, where it had a half-sleeve and a few flared-out frills over the skirt.

Meanwhile, her 49-year-old husband - whom she appeared to accuse of adultery on her visual album Lemonade - modeled a powder blue suit and white tee.

He added a dash of personality with a colorful headband, accessorizing further with Ray Ban shades and rounding off the look with pristine white sneakers.

Beyonce gets emotional clapping for hubby Jay-Z as he thanks her onstage winning NAACP Image Award - Daily Mail

Beyonce was visibly moved as her husband Jay-Z heaped praise on her onstage at the NAACP Image Awards on Saturday.

Jay, 49, could be seen kissing his wife in the audience and heading up to the stage to accept the President's Award at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

He paid tribute to the 'beautiful woman in my life, Beyonce,' who herself won Entertainer Of The Year - and then joked that this was 'just because of the white suit.'

The prize was 'dedicated to my beautiful grandmother Hattie White,' 93, to whom he also dedicated a bench in Prospect Park in Brooklyn last year.

Hattie brought up 'seven kids' in Brooklyn, and when those children started families themselves Jay-Z wound up in 'one household' with his grandmother and relatives.

Jay shared that Hattie recently revealed she was making '$20 a week' in the old days, and that she said: 'You could do a lot with $20 in those days.'

He cited this 'attitude' as 'how I grew up' and said it was the influence of the 'strong women in my house' that made him think he 'could accomplish anything.'

At the end of his speech he quipped that he was Hattie's 'favorite grandson,' and said he was giving her the prize to keep in her home so that 'when she's sneaking pork and her legs are swelling up, she can remember how much of a G she is.'

Near the beginning of the speech, he got a laugh by shouting out the 'very humble and kindhearted president.... I was talking about Donald Glover.'

When Beyonce hit the stage that evening to collect Entertainer Of The Year - the second time she has received the honor - she got thunderous applause.

'Thank you so much, I'm so honored,' she said with a smile, placing her trophy on the floor and producing a speech she wrote honoring her fellow nominees.

Beyonce is preparing to lift the lid on her glamorous - but very private - personal life in a new documentary about her widely-praised performance at Coachella in 2018.

In a dramatic new trailer for the film, Homecoming: A Film By Beyonce, the 37-year-old mother-of-three is captured in an incredibly intimate capacity, with clips showing the singer spending time with her children, laughing with husband Jay-Z, working out, and preparing for the groundbreaking performance.

The short flashes of Beyonce's personal life are cut with behind-the-scenes footage from the Coachella performance, as well as videos of the hoards of screaming fans - while audio from an interview with late poet and civil rights activist Maya Angelou is heard playing.

Far from serving simply as a poignant soundtrack for the clip however, the words spoken by Maya give an interesting insight into the intended purpose of the film - and perhaps even Beyonce's hopes for how the world views her and her performance.

'What I really want to do is be a representative of my race, of the human race,' Maya is heard saying - while clips of Beyonce and her family flash up, interspersed with footage of the singer preparing for her Coachella performance.

'I have a chance to show how kind we can be, how intelligent and generous we can be. I have a chance to teach, and to love, and to laugh.

'I know that when I finish doing what I'm sent here to do, I will be called home. And I will go home without any fear, trepidations, wondering what's gonna happen.'

While Maya's words are playing, flashes of footage from some of the more intimate areas of Beyonce's life flash up on screen, with the singer seen laying down and laughing while talking to her husband, Jay-Z, as well as cradling her 22-month-old twins, Rumi and Sir, who have been largely kept away from the spotlight since their birth in June 2017.

Seven-year-old Blue Ivy also features in the behind-the-scenes clips, with one particularly sweet video showing her joining her mother and the back-up dancers to learn their routine; with her mother and the professionals in the background, Blue is seen sitting on a chair and whipping her long hair around her face - just like Beyonce and the dancers.

The footage also captures the rigorous preparation process for the music festival performance, which featured an appearance by Jay-Z, as well as an on-stage reunion with Beyonce's Destiny's Child bandmates, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams.

Beyonce is seen dancing, working out, and even conducting a large group of instrument-wielding musicians. Throughout the behind-the-scenes footage, the singer looks laidback, relaxed, and very casual - a world away from the bright lights and glamour of the stage.

As Maya's words draw to a close however, the narrative is flipped; the poet's audio finishes with her answering a question posed by the interviewer, who asks: 'What advice would you have to give this generation?'

'Tell the truth... to yourself first, and to the children,' Maya responds, before the clip cuts quickly to much more glitzy, dynamic footage of Beyonce performing - set to a very loud and dramatic soundtrack of beating drums and chanting.

According to Oprah's O Magazine, the interview used in the clip took place back in 2013 for Canadian TV show George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight - and it is thought to be one of the final sit-down interviews that Maya did before her death in May 2014.

In the interview, she discusses all manner of topics, but she focuses on her hopes for the future of society, honing in on civil rights, gender equality, human rights, and politics.

Beyonce's choice to feature Maya's thought-provoking words in her trailer calls attention to the key topics that she no doubt hopes to highlight in the feature-length film, something that is also highlighted in the movie description that accompanied the trailer.

'Homecoming presents an intimate look at Beyonce's historic 2018 Coachella performance that paid homage to America's historically black colleges and universities,' the video caption read.

'Interspersed with candid footage and interviews detailing the preparation and powerful intent behind her vision, Homecoming traces the emotional road from creative concept to cultural movement.'

The trailer certainly suggests that Beyonce's documentary will tackle more than the singer's Coachella preparation and on-stage performance; the singer actually made history at Coachella last year as the first African American woman to headline the festival, and her entire set paid tribute to traditionally-black colleges and universities, and their students.

In both the behind-the-scenes clips, and the performance footage, aspects of this tribute are captured - from the New Orleans-style brass band that accompanied her opening song, Crazy In Love, to the collegiate style ensembles worn by those on-stage.

During the performance, Beyonce and her back-up dancers and musicians wore yellow hoodies with the Greek letters Beta Delta Kappa - BAK - as a nod to the Divine Nine, the five African American fraternities and four sororities.

The singer also used audio of a speech made by minister and human rights activist Malcolm X in between songs.

Even the date of the documentary's debut bears significance; the movie is set to debut on April 17 - which is almost exactly a year on from her two Coachella performances, which took place on April 14 and April 21.

An US Weekly report from last week revealed that Beyonce has been working with Netflix on a documentary that, 'will be tied to her Coachella 2018 performance.'

The report also revealed that Bey is working on new music, though it won't be a full album. Instead, the singer is working on a 'couple of new tracks [for] a deluxe album filled with old songs.'

These tracks will be the first new songs she's released since her surprise 2016 album Lemonade, but she also released a joint album with husband Jay-Z, Everything Is Love, in 2018, ahead of their co-headlining tour.

The release of Lemonade in 2016 made Beyonce the only female solo artist in history to debut at the #1 spot with her first six studio albums.

She has sold over 100 million albums worldwide as a solo artist, plus another 60 million records as a member of Destiny's Child, making her one of the best selling music artists of all time.

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified Beyonce as the best-selling artist of the 2000s, along with her 23 Grammy Awards.

Beyonce also recently announced a collaboration with Adidas for a new line of signatures sneakers and clothing dubbed Ivy Park.

'This is the partnership of a lifetime for me,' Beyonce said in a statement. 'We share a philosophy that puts creativity, growth and social responsibility at the forefront of business.'

'I look forward to re-launching and expanding Ivy Park on a truly global scale with a proven, dynamic leader,' she concluded.

Beyonce and Adele FINALLY collaborate! Pop megastars to join forces on song for One Republic's album - Daily Mail

Ryan Tedder has revealed he was 'joking' about a collaboration between Beyonce and Adele.

Before performing at the Global Citizen Festival in New York City on Saturday, singer Ryan Tedder told interviewers that a collaboration between Beyonce and Adele would feature on his band One Republic's new album.

The 40 year old singer was being interviewed by Z100's Maxwell, who asked the singer about any 'secrets' about their forthcoming album, Human, dropping in November.

'We have one song featuring Beyonce and Adele, with a Chris Martin piano solo on the bridge,' Tedder said.

But after the report went viral, he clarified that he had spoken in jest.

'Come onnnnnnn people!!!!!' he wrote on Instagram stories, sharing a picture of a laughing puppy and Snow White.

The claim was not entirely implausible - Tedder has already worked with both singers, penning Beyonce's song Halo and Adele's Rumor Has It.

Adele has famously been a longtime fan of Beyonce, even going so far as to break her Grammy in half, offering to split it for Best Album when her album 25 beat Beyonce's Lemonade, saying that Lemonade was her Album of the Year.

Tedder had announced earlier in September that One Republic's album Human would be released in November, but on Saturday he walked back that release date.

'We are gone for a month, so after I said it I was like, "Wait a minute, can we actually hit an album in November?"'

'And I was like, no we can't, it's impossible,' Tedder added. 'But the bottom line is we do have an album with material and that's the good news.

He added they've been, 'dropping song after song,' including the new single Rescue Me was the first that, 'got the wheels turning again.'

While he wouldn't state when exactly the new album will drop, he did tease they plan on releasing more songs before it drops.

Adele is expected to release her fourth studio album in December, so fans won't have to wait too long for her next material.

And while it isn't clear when Beyonce will release a new album yet, she did record two songs for The Lion King soundtrack, which she also starred in.
